Two Years After Lam-Adesina’s Motion, FG Approves Reconstruction Of Ibadan-Ife Expresway

Two years after a motion by Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina for the reconstruction of the ever-busy Ibadan-Ife road, the federal government has approved it.

Lam-Adesina, who represented Ibadan North East /South East federal constituency between 2015 and 2019, had on Tuesday May 9, 2017, on the floor of the house moved a Motion calling for the urgent rehabilitation of Ibadan/Ile-Ife Expressway.

In his motion he mentioned the fact that one half of the dual carriageway was constructed during the tenure of the late sage,Chief Obafemi Awolowo as Premier of the western region.

He said the road which is in a state of disrepair links about six states and that this has caused untoward hardship to travellers and commercial drivers.

On Wednesday September, 25, 2019, the Federal Executive Council approved the reconstruction of the Ibadan-Ile-Ife dual carriageway for N79.829 bn.
