Russia threatens to NUKE Norway in response to allowing US Marines to deploy in the country

Norway has been warned by a senior Russian politician that it could now be a nuclear target after it allowed for the deployment of 330 US Marines.
  
Frants Klintsevich, a deputy chairman of Russia's defence and security committee, said the deployment of US Marines at Værnes was part of a US build-up and made Norway fair game in the event of a nuclear confrontation.

Mr Klintsevich told Russia's TV2 channel the Kremlin viewed the 330 Marines in Norway as a direct military threat.

Norway joined Nato in 1949 but only after giving what was then the Soviet Union an assurance they would never allow foreign troops to be stationed there. 

4 killed as Lorry falls on commercial bus carrying students of Fed. Government Girls College Oyo

Four students of the Federal Government Girls College Oyo state were reportedly killed after a Lorry carrying garri, fell on a commercial bus conveying them to school yesterday. According to residents of the town, the accident happened at Sabo market in Oyo state. The accident was caused by bad portions of the road. A young man from Akwa Ibom state, Ekomobong Finbarr, constructed and defended this solar powered tricycle (Keke) as his first degree project in Electrical Engineering, Federal University of Technology, (FUTO), Owerri. According to reports, the tricycle has no engine, just battery and the solar system and can go 11km without blinking.

Last week Thursday, LIB reported a story of a female banker identified as Oluchi Onyebuchi who was arrested by men of the Ogun state police command for allegedly hiring assassins to kill her estranged husband, Tochukwu Onyebuchi.

Now, a friend of the accused woman, Nicole Chioma Ugochukwu, over the weekend, took a trip to Ogun state Police station in Eleweran Abeokuta, Ogun state where Oluchi is being held in custody. She gave an update on the matter.

EFCC Re-arraigns Orji Uzor Kalu In Lagos Over Corruption Charges

A former Governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu, is currently in the dock before a Federal High Court in Lagos answering alleged corruption charges. Kalu and others had been initially arraigned in 2007 before Justice Adamu Bello of the Federal High Court, Abuja (now retired).

They were arraigned in an amended 34-count charge over an alleged diversion of about N3.2bn from the Abia State Government’s treasury during Kalu’s tenure as governor.

Tears as daughter Of Olubadan of Ibadan dies in auto crash


The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji, lost his daughter, Mujidat Alagbada, in a fatal accident on Tuesday.

A source at the palace, who preferred anonymity because he had no authority to speak on behalf of the Ibadan monarch, said Mrs. Alagbada died after a taxi she chartered was involved in an accident around the Lagos end of the Lagos-Ibadan Express Road.

Gambia Sports commission is in a shock following the sudden death of Fatim Jawara. Jawara, goalkeeper to the country's women's national team, met her death while attempting to cross to Europe by boat from Libya where she is believed to have spent weeks in a secluded camp.

Obafemi Martins signs N4bn Shanghai deal

Former Eagles striker Obafemi Martins has extended his contract with Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.


The former Inter Milan, Newcastle United and Wolfsburg star first penned a one-season deal with the Gregorio Manzano-led side, but will now stay with the club until the end of the 2017 season based on the new agreement.


Martins has averaged 0.5 goals per game (15 goals from 30 appearances) this season, a feat that helped him to get the new improved pay cheque.

The 32-year-old will pocket $9 million in wages (equivalent of N4.1 billion) in the new deal that he signed, $2.4 million more than his last deal.

A 31-year-old artisan identified as Gafar Ajibola, drowned in Ogun River during a police raid on Oniyanrin community in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state, in the early hours of Saturday October 29th. According to eyewitnesses, Gafar was at the river washing his clothes when the police stormed there in search of hoodlums.

Man carrying human head arrested in Ghana

An unidentified man was apprehended on Sunday by the police after he was caught with a severed head of a lady at the Greater Accra campaign launch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to several reports, the man who was almost killed by an angry mob before the intervention of the police, was caught carrying the severed head in a polythene bag to the campaign ground. The man is presently at the community 1 Police Station for investigation...

A terrible accident just occurred earlier today at Fiditi area in Oyo state. The fatal accident reportedly claimed nothing less than four persons including the driver who were on their way to Ibadan for a church program.  According to a witness, one of the passengers who got out of their vehicles to assist the injured victims was also killed by another bus whose break developed fault . May their souls rest in peace.
