It has been revealed that Benin prisoners didn't escape, they were released by warders.

 

The revelation was made by investigative journalist, Dr Kemi Olunloyo on her twitter handle.

 

According to her, the prisoners that escaped from the Benin prison a.k.a "White house" yesterday, were actually set free by the prison warders due to their frustration on corruption.

 

She wrote:

 

Dear @CorrectionsNg aka Nigerian prisons. A TOP official just notified me as an Invstg Journalist that your WARDERS FREED inmates at the "White House" Benin themselves  They support protesters & tired of the in-house corruption
