Kanye West 'Sunday Service' trademark application rejected

Kanye West

Kanye West's move to trademark "Sunday Service" has been shut down as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected his application to register the name because someone else has already claimed its ownership.

The American rapper applied for the exclusive ownership of the name "Sunday Service" so it can get featured on his brand's dresses, footwear, headwear, jackets, loungewear, scarves, shirts, socks and tops.

Officials of the US Patent and Trademark Office however rejected Ye's application because the name got registered in 2015 by a man who owns an event company and according to them, it could cause confusion. TMZ reported Kanye still has the option to fight USPTO's decision before the application is abandoned.

Kanye's Sunday Service has grown significantly over the past several months and has been hosted in towns and cities across the U.S., including Chicago, D.C., Detroit, Dayton, Ohio, Salt Lake City, and Cody, Wyoming
