National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, met some aggrieved former caretaker chairmen and serving House of Representatives’ members from Oyo State on the need to support Oloye Adebayo Adelabu in next Saturday’s governorship election.
At the meeting, Tinubu begged them to sheath their swords and work for their old party-APC.
We had reported how the congress of the APC snowballed into crisis in May, leading to factionalisation.
Members of the breakaway group, Unity Forum, later joined African Democratic Congress, ADC, Action Democratic Party, ADP and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
However, all those who contested among them lost their elections including Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who was the candidate of the APC in Oyo South.
