Popular Nigerian Journalist, Joey Akan has called out the organizers of the 2022 Headies Award for disqualifying controversial singer, Portable after he threatened to kill co-nominees and stated that he formed the notorious 'One Million Boys' cult group.

Recall that last month, the controversial singer made a threat in a viral video that he would kill or cause harm to the other nominees in the same categories of awards he was nominated for - 'Rookie of the Year’ and ‘Best Street-Hop Artiste' - if he doesn't emerge winner.

Last week, he was embroiled in another controversy after he went online to boast about forming Ajah Boys and One million boys, a notorious cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State.

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, was forced to order an investigation into the claims.  However, Portable quickly retracted his statement, claiming that the One Million Boys he referred to in the viral video are his fans and not any cult group .

With the  investigation still ongoing, the organisers of 2022 Headies Awards decided to disqualify him as a nominee at the forthcoming 15th Headies Awards last night.

Reacting to the news, Joey took to Twitter to question the reason behind the disqualification since police were still investigating the controversial singer.

He also questioned if the organisers would have taken the same decision if it was a 'higher artist' involved in the case.
