OMG... 32-Year-Old Mum-Of-3 Forced To Have Hands And Feet Amputated After Getting COVID

According to the doctor, complications from the virus can cause blood clots, which is thought to result in wounds that resemble burns – however, this is known to be a rare side-effect of the virus.

A doctor has issued a stark warning about the dangers of Covid after a patient had her hands and feet amputated as a result of the virus.

Dr Wesley Ely, based in Nashville, US, posted a video on Twitter of Autumn Nugent online, which showed her being fitted with a prosthetic leg, while her hands and upper legs are wrapped in bandages.

He told how the mother-of-three had her hands and feet "taken by Covid".

"Her physical resilience and mental fortitude are my inspiration," he said.

"She sent me this video of her walking with new legs and said to tell you that blood clots of Covid can be prevented with a vaccine.

"Covid-19 is a disease of blood vessels that can affect your lungs, heart, brain, or any organ.

"Blood clotting sucks life from vital organs.

"This patient asked to have her story shared so that others may learn and seek vaccination."

According to the doctor, complications from the virus can cause blood clots, which is thought to result in wounds that resemble burns – however, this is known to be a rare side-effect of the virus.

According to her fundraising page, which was set up to cover just 10 per cent of her medical bills – which total more than $200,000 – she originally went into hospital to remove a tumour from her arm.

But several months later, she was "throwing a football" with her two sons when she heard a crack in her bone.

Having gone back into hospital to have more surgery, she apparently went into "septic shock and completely (was) unconscious".

It is not clear where she had contracted the virus from, but it was “attacking her lungs” and had “invaded” the surgical wound in her arm.

Having had surgery to remove her limbs, Ms Nugent was then given 12 different medicines to take every day.

A set of gifted prosthetics with her sister’s and children's names on them gave her "hope and motivation" during her recovery.

Dr Ely added: "Her life is forever changed This is the reality of what can happen to a very young and totally healthy person.

"Life goes on no matter how hard the curveballs are that we are thrown. There is hope for tomorrow.

"Her love of her kids and sisters is driving her onwards."

And in a message to anti-vaxxers, he said: "Covid patients want to get vaccinated and many have asked you to reconsider.

"Do your part and share her story and its message of hope.

"Make her courage to share worth it!"
