Abducted boy

In what will come across as a really startling development, a four-year-old pupil of the St. Joseph School Otolo Nnewi in Anambra state was rescued from two men who abducted him.

He was abducted while returning home from school on Thursday, March 11 and was rescued after his classmates who he was walking home with raised an alarm.

Mohammed Haruna, a spokesperson of the state police command, said the victim was returning home from school in company of his siblings when two men on a motorcycle grabbed him and zoomed off with him.

The spokesperson said the other children raised alarm and the boy was rescued. The residents descended on the suspected kidnappers, beating them to a pulp. He said one of the suspects died on Friday, March 12.

''Alarm was raised by other children which attracted the attention of some commercial motorcyclists who pursued and eventually arrested the suspects and rescued the child at Akamili Community Nnewi.

However, before the arrival of police patrol team to the scene, the two suspects were beaten to stupor by the angry mob but were eventually rescued by the police and taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Consequently, on March 12 one of the suspects  whose identity is yet  unknown was certified dead by a medical doctor while receiving treatment and the second one is still unconscious at the hospital.

The Corpse has been deposited at the mortuary and investigation still ongoing''
Haruna stated in a statement released
