NIMC staff apologise to Minister of Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, for going on strike


The staff of the National Identification Management Commission NIMC on Tuesday, January 26, apologized to the Minister of Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, for going on strike.

 

The union leaders had a meeting with the Minister and just before the commencement of the meeting, the staff members apologized to him for going on strike.

''The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy,  DrIsaPantami, is holding an official meeting with the labour union representing @nimc_ng under the aegis of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, NIMC branch.

The union members commenced the meeting by apologizing to the Honourable Minister, @DrIsaPantami, and all Nigerians for embarking on the industrial action that stalled the NIN registration process earlier in the month.''a tweet from the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy reads


Recall the staff of NIMC went on strike two weeks ago to protest poor welfare and lack of PPEs to protect them against COVID-19. Their strike disrupted the ongoing National Identification Number registration exercise.
