Kalu on Sunday opened up about his time in prison, revealing that it made him a better person and that he is happy he spent time there.
According to the senator representing Abia North in the National Assembly, the prison experience was an eye-opener and something that revealed many secrets to him.
He made the statement during a Thanksgiving session at the Love World Incorporated, otherwise known as Christ Embassy.
“I am happy that I went to prison. I went to prison and I am out. I am happy because, going to prison has made me a refined, better and more forward looking man. I went to prison and discovered many secrets that I never believed that could happen,” he said.
In December 2019, Kalu was convicted by the Lagos federal high court for money laundering to the tune of N7.1 billion but was released from the Kuje Correctional Centre in June 2020, after spending five months in prison.
