A Nigerian woman identified as Juliet Omenihu has revealed how her brother was taken away by policemen.

The woman approached the Abia State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police brutality to help her find out what happened to her only brother, Ezenwoke Omelihu, The PUNCH reports.

While being led in evidence by her counsel before the panel, Juliet told the panel that on June 17, 2020, 29-year-old Ezenwoke, who was a tricycle operator, was asleep when a group of police officers broke into their apartment around 11pm.

Juliet said the armed policemen arrested his brother and a visiting friend and dragged them towards a white RAV4 vehicle they came with.

While outside, the police officers asked one Chinedu, a wielder that came with them to identify the person that usually take him in a tricycle.

“The Chinedu pointed at my brother and the police asked my brother to enter into the car. When my brother asked them what he did, they (the police) beat him up. They asked me for my brother’s phone and his clothes which I gave them.

“I asked them where they were taking my elder brother to and they told me that they would call us after their investigation. One of them told me that he would smash my phone if I try to make a call.

“We haven’t heard from them till now and my brother’s line is not going through. We have gone to Azuka Police Station and found my brother’s tricycle there but we were told that he was not at the police station.

“We equally went to other police stations, including Eziama Police Station (Aba). Umuobikwa Police Station (Obingwa) and the Central Police Station (Aba), we were told he was not there. It has been up to four months now, I haven’t heard from my brother.”
