We’ve Lost Over N38m Worth Goods To EndSARS Protests, Y North MD Raises Alarm

The Managing Director of Y North, a Nigerian Indigenous fashion brand, Mr Babalola Oluwaseun Bamiro on Sunday disclosed that the company  has lost goods worth over N38 million to the EndSARS protests.

Mr Bamiro in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan urged  the Federal Government and governor’s of Kwara, Osun and Lagos states to come to their aid .
According to the Managing Director of Y North, suspected hoodlums burgled  his store in Palms Mall, Ilorin store completely which had over N30million worth of goods, while in Osun Mall in Osogbo the goods carted away were over N2 million  and in SPA Mall in Lekki, goods worth N1million .

Condemning what he called  the act of robbery, Mr Bamiro lamented  that many businesses are being affected and only government can rise up and help many business owners who were affected.

He  listed items carted  away from Y North to include, :” belts, children and adults shoes, jewelries, costumes, make up kits, shirts among others.
He however called on the Kwara state government “to ensure looters do not hijack the process of supporting business owners who were affected”, adding, “the use of online forms may not become fraudulent as persons who did not lose anything may come out to also claim compensations”.
Stressing that government during on the spot assessment should have noted and listed organisations that should be compensated after loosing so much, Mr Bamiro appealed to the federal government to come to his aid at this time that many businesses are struggling to survive.
While  called on well meaning Nigerians home and abroad to assist and save his business from a major collapse, he said, ” Y North has 60 Outlets and Stores across the country with about 100 staff working across the country. Adding it is pathetic for an indigenous brand should not be experiencing such a major loss having contributed immensely to to the economic development of the country.
