Porto and Malian striker Moussa Marega opens up on the vile racist abuse he suffered from Vitoria SC fans

Malian striker, Moussa Marega has opened up on the vile racist abuse he suffered during Porto's clash with Vitoria on Sunday.

When the 28-year-old striker scored in the 60th minute, he celebrated his goal by pointing to the colour of the skin on his forearm, which prompted monkey noises and chairs to be thrown from the stands by Vitoria SC fans.

Marega even celebrated with one of the discarded plastic seats but then made his way to the side of the pitch, with his thumbs down and seemingly booing the home supporters.

Marega was shown a yellow card for the reaction, but after the abuse continued he attempted to angrily leave the pitch and was restrained by his teammates and opposition players, including Porto coach Sergio Conceica.

The Malian international was later substituted in the 72nd minute and replaced with Wilson Manafa.

Speaking about the incident in an interview with RMC Sport, he said: 'I felt like total s---. It was a massive humiliation, and it really hurt.

'It started from the beginning, at the warm-up. It was a couple of people. However, when you see and hear two or three shouting monkey stuff or racist insults, I guess that happens to many players on the football field.

'I could not care less if it is only two or three, but the entire stadium? It is not even possible to keep playing when people are mocking the colour of your skin. It is impossible.'
