 Update: Man rescued by Philippine Coast Guard claims he was handcuffed by unknown persons, escaped and jumped into river to save himself

The man who was rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said that he was handcuffed by unknown persons at his residence.


Recall that the (PCG) Search Operations Unit (SOU) rescued the victim identified as Mr Johnson Obi, after he jumped off Valenzuela Ferry Station in Pasig River around 6 o’clock on Wednesday morning,  27 November 2019.

Mr Obi, who was found handcuffed is claiming to be from Cameroon and works as a business consultant of a media company, but the police says he's Nigerian.

He narrated that he was handcuffed by unknown persons at his residence in Makati City. He managed to escape and jumped off Pasig River to save himself from his perpetrators.

He was immediately turned-over to the Mandaluyong City Police Station for proper disposition.
