Eyewitness explains why Unilag student was arrested and rumoured to be a mermaid

There was a scene last night in front of a hostel in Unilag as a student was arrested.

Students claimed she was arrested because she turned into a mermaid . This outrageous claim elicited hilarious reactions from Twitter users.

However, one Twitter user shared screenshots of WhatsApp updates from eyewitnesses explaining what really happened.

According to the Unilag students who claim to be close to the situation, the student got into an altercation with another student and she threatened to show the other "pepper". They reported to the porter and the student was arrested. But rumours soon began spreading that the arrested student claimed she is a "water goddess".
