Horror! 13-year-old Primary School Pupil Swept Away By Flood In Edo

A mere 13-year-old pupil has been reportedly swept away by a raging flood in a community in Edo state.

According to a report by Punch Metro, a 13-year-old pupil, Egbadon Overcome, has been swept away by flood following a downpour.

Overcome was said to be a primary 3 pupil of the Idumu Ague Primary School in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Eyewitnesses said the area was flooded as a result of the rain.

The deceased’s body was recovered by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

The Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Joan Oviawe, said she had deployed field officers in the area to unravel the circumstances of the pupil’s death.
 
She stated, “The Edo State Universal Basic Education Board regrets to announce the unfortunate death of Egbadon Overcome, a 13-year-old primary 3 pupil of the Idumu Ague Primary School in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

“We commiserate with the child’s parents, the management of the Idumu Ague Primary School and the community over the sad incident. We will ensure that the incident is thoroughly investigated and work towards ensuring that such does not happen in the future.”
