Two suspected robbers, were on Wednesday nabbed at Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan, for stealing the sum of N500,000 from a car parked within the secretariat.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the robbers, who drove a Lexus Jeep, were said to have trailed the victim to Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control within the Secretariat from a commercial bank where she had gone withdraw money.
Suspecting that she was being trailed, the victim after parking had watched the robbers from a hiding and raised alarm immediately the robbers broke her side glass to take the money.
Prior to being taken away by the police, the robbers had received some blue and black beating by the staff and visitors to the state Secretariat.
Eyewitnesses, however, noted that the aside from the two caught, one other person who participated in the robbery escaped over the fence.
In a conversation to confirm the incident, Oyo Police Public Relations Officer, Gbenga Fadeyi gave the name of the suspected robbers as Adebayo Ade and Ayo Bolanle.
He added that the suspected robbers had in their possession ATM cards, phones and a Lexus Jeep, and were cooling their heels at Agodi police station, Ibadan.
