INEC Adhoc Staff refuse to work in Lagos, insist allowances must be paid

INEC Adhoc Staff refuse to work in Lagos, insist allowances must be paid

This morning, some INEC ad-hoc staff refused work over non-payment of allowances.

At a Registration Area Centre (RAC) in Anifowose Primary School in Ikeja, the ad-hoc staff, mostly youth corps members, appeared not to be interested in the election duty. Some of them noted that apart from the election duty being tedious, they had not received their allowances as earlier promised.

They, therefore, insisted that they would not leave the RAC until their allowances were paid but after much agitation, however, the INEC officials were seen sharing the monies.

Thereafter, the ad-hoc staff began to leave the centre with voting materials for their various Polling Units. In other parts of the state, there have protests by the ad-hoc staff that they would not work if they are not paid their allowance of N10,000.

Some of the areas affected Agege, Ikeja, Kosofe, Oshodi and others.

Looking like the Youth Corpers/Adhoc staff have planned beforehand and staging a protest to be paid their incentives before they go out to work today. Ghen Ghen!! Oya INEC pay them o. Awon omo ol’omo.
