Oloye Adebayo Adelabu’s bid to become governor of Oyo State got a major boost as leaders of the Unity Forum have decided to work for him.
At a meeting which took place at the Akobo home of former governor Lamidi Adesina’s personal assistant, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Adelabu thanked them for their support, promising not to betray them.
OYO INSIGHT had reported how some Unity Forum leaders met Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Friday.
Tinubu, this newspaper learnt, had invited them on the need to support the governorship ambition of Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The move became necessary following the loss of Governor Abiola Ajimobi in last Saturday’s senatorial election in Oyo South.
At the meeting were former Lagos commisioner, Dr Adebayo Adewusi, party leaders like Chief Goke Oyetunji, Alhaji Gani Alade, Baba Mayor, Chief Lekan Kazeem, Hon. Lasun Adebunmi, Isiaka Alimi and Hon. Adeyemi Kosigiri, who All later adorned the campaign fez caps of Adelabu.
They had been prevailed upon by Tinubu to go work for Adelabu in the interest of progressive politics they believe in.
